About Kaia

Kaia Kim-Weigandt has a mission to advocate for, represent, and inspire Asian American girls; to show them they can be a part of the narrative by building authentic characters who are full of life, hope, and spirit. She trained at UCLA’s school of Theater, Film, and Television as part of the Theater BA program, with an emphasis in acting. Kaia participated in several theater and film projects in her time at UCLA before graduating in 2025. She also studied in London at LAMDA as part of the cohort for their Summer Shakespeare Course. She has a deep passion for literature, and an excitement about using the language to deepen and propel her storytelling.

Outside of the acting world, Kaia has performed and trained in jazz vocals and improvisation in the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory, UC Irvine Jazz Studies Department, and UCLA Global Jazz Studies department, as well as in professional settings. She also leads her own personal band playing her original music, bridging the genres of psychedelic rock, pop, and jazz, with an emphasis on powerful imagery through lyricism. Kaia is passionate about access to the arts for individuals with disabilities, an issue close to her heart and personal to her family, and frequently volunteers with different organizations which promote access to artistic resources for individuals with disabilities.
